→ Safety Training – On Saturday, March 19th, Lt. Pilgrim and Officer Novak presented a self-defense class at the Oxford Baptist Church for about 50 people. The class lasted from 10 AM until about 12:30 PM.
→ Newton County Meeting – Thursday night, March 24, Mayor Roseberry hosted a meeting of the Mayors of Newton County (Covington, Mansfield, Newborn, Porterdale, and Oxford) along with the Newton County Board of Commissioners and Ralph Staffins, president of the chamber of commerce. Several issues of interest to all the governments were discussed and the group agreed to start meeting quarterly.
