→ Our Honorary Councilmember for October is Adrienne Waddey, the Associate Director of Development for Oxford College. She was appointed by Councilmember David Eady.

→ The City of Oxford would like to congratulate Corey Alt on earning his GED. He started this week as the city’s Meter Reader. He is pictured here receiving a certificate and a congratulatory handshake from Mayor Jerry Roseberry.

→ Bob Schwartz received the Lifetime Service Award from the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). Pam Helton, the Director of Consulting Services for GMA, presented Bob with the award. He was recognized for his contributions to Oxford as the city’s first professional city manager, as well as for his service in several other Georgia cities.

→ On Monday, September 18th, the city held its first public hearing and input meeting for its Comprehensive Plan for 2018-2028. John Devine, the Principal Planner with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission, conducted the two meetings. The meetings included involvement from our community stakeholders, staff, and the Mayor and City Council. This first input meeting focused on the city’s vision/goals for the next 10 years, coupled with a SWOT Analysis.
